Advisory Councils

Overview

College of San Mateo has a long history of working with industry partners to develop curriculum and programs that lead to high demand, high wage employment for our students. These partnerships have been embedded in the advisory groups that support our programs with curriculum development assistance, intelligence regarding developments and changes in their industries, etc.

In the course of these relationships a realization that our advisory groups operated more in the role of consultants rather than committees brought us to a decision to change the designation of these groups to Industry Advisory Councils and away from the more common CTE Advisory Committees.

Our Industry Advisory Councils reference document will be helpful in understanding the role and relationship that exists between our Councils and the programs they support.
